Additional Information:
Heather Borsos is the two time defending GBSSA Girls singles champion, OFSAA finalist and winner of several OTA (Ontario Tennis Association) events. Her success can be attributed to her competitiveness and willingness to win under pressure. Heather wins matches she shouldn’t win by outsmarting opponents and capitalizing on short balls. She also wins matches she should win, never letting nerves get the better of her. She has a balance of power and speed with incredible stamina. Her last tournament title required her to play 7 matches in one day. Heather also plays competitive badminton winning the GBSSA title and being named to the 2012 Ontario Winter Games team. She is an executive member of The Banting Memorial Athletic Society, won the 2011 Female Athlete of the Year at her high school and has a 98% academic average. She has played piano since 6 and most recently completed (with honours) the grade 5 piano examination and the basic theory rudiment exam at The Canadian Conservatory of Music. She commits three days a week to physical conditioning while working on developing a simpler and more effective service action, cleaner and more effortless groundstrokes and a stable net game that will allow her to finish more points and improve her confidence in doubles. She is a coachable and hard working player who has demonstrated a passion and focus to constant improvement during her entire tennis career. There are no days off for Heather who always comes to the courts prepared. She also coaches tennis having received her instructor certification from Tennis Canada. Her ability to be flexible and find ways of winning, combined with a proven work ethic and determination is what will make her a valuable asset to any NCAA coach who needs a clutch performer in their lineup. Heather completes high school in June 2013 and hopes to secure a tennis scholarship for the fall 2013.
