GENERAL INFORMATION

Academic Interest:
Criminology / Teaching

Additional Information:
Danielle is a well balanced student athlete who is able to manage her time between academics and her hockey commitments extremely well. She plans to pursue a degree in the area of criminology or teaching in the Fall of 2010 that matches a competitive varsity hockey program with high academic standards. Danielle is currently in her senior year at Parry Sound High School where she maintains a 3.5 GPA and is preparing to write her SAT test in October. Danielle was a member of Team Ontario North in the 2009 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she scored two goals and collected six assists. Head coach Lawrence describes Danielle " as a standout on ice and caught the attention of many at the tournament. Off ice she truly is a wonderful and responsible young lady that was always wanting to participate in team activities and make new friends. I wish her the best in her up coming hockey season and I know that she was getting the attention of Hockey Canada scouts that were present as we discussed her at the end of the tournament". Danielle is very strong in the offensive zone where her responsibilities include fighting for the puck in corners, positioning herself in front of the net, and making plays to open teammates. She also understands her role in the defensive zone to intercept a pass from opposing defensemen and attack when they have the puck. She is a playmaker and her intensity and determination has allowed her to excel in a number of sports including XC running, soccer, XC skiing, and track. Danielle is currently playing for the Sudbury Lady Wolves Midget AA team which will be playing in the Stoney Creek Showcase on September 11-13.
