| Nolan is a well rounded student athlete who excels both academically and athletically. He plans to pursue a degree in an area of science in the fall of 2010, which matches a competitive varsity golf program with high academic standards. Nolan has had some impressive results this season playing on the Maple Leaf Junior Tour and Mclennan Ross Sun Junior Tour. Nolan scored rounds of 73 at Ponoka finishing 3rd out of a field of 70, 76 at Golden G&CC, and 73 at Camrose during some of the one day events on the Mclennan Ross Sun Junior Tour. On the Maple Leaf Junior Tour he shot 77, 84, 71 at Paradise Canyon finishing tied for 8th in a field of 50 players. Nolan finished the year off great winning his 1A/2A High School Zone tournament which qualified him for High School Provincials where he finished 3rd out of a field of 120 of Alberta’s top junior golfers. Nolan's local club pro Blair Felesky describes Nolan, “I recall initially meeting Nolan as a student in our Junior Future Links Program as an 8 year old. Over the past 10 years, I have had the privilege of witnessing Nolan’s development and transition into a young man blessed with considerable talent on the golf course. In over 18 years as a PGA member, I have witnessed other young golfers with talent equivalent to Nolan, however many lacked his good nature and humility, and few demonstrated his genuine work ethic to cultivate his talent". Nolan’s current coach and mentor Stuart Hendley resides in Midland, Texas as a professional golfer and coach for other young athletes. Since working with Stuart, Nolan has “gone from a 26 handicap to a 3 in about 2 years which is amazing considering the very short golf season in Alberta,” says Stuart. Nolan and his coach are able to spend time together in the summer but also takes various golf trips in the winter to work on his game.
