| Alyssa is a consistent and dependable goalkeeper who is extremely coachable. She is currently playing for the Surrey Breakers Nitro Elite in the Metro Soccer League who has won four league and two provincial championships over the past 5 years. 2008/2009 has been an exciting year for Alyssa with her team capturing a provincial title, league title, and 3rd at the Starfire Fieldturf Cup Showcase in Seattle. Alyssa plans to pursue a degree in science in the Fall 2009, that matches a competitive varsity soccer program with high academic standards. Alyssa played in the Pacific Coast Women's League for three years which really improved her a lot, with the fast pace play her decision making and communication improved immensely. Head coach of the Nitro Pat Horahan describes Alyssa as "a very strong goaltender, with good hands for shot stopping and a willingness to come out and challenge attacking players. She has a goals-against average of less than one per game. Alyssa also has great distribution skills, especially a strong punt well into the attacking zone. She has shown great skill, determination and effort in her athletic pursuits. Alyssa demonstrates strong leadership skills while on the field, and is a great communicator to her defenders. She listens to instructions well and is responsive to coaching. Alyssa has a great attitude and is a pleasure to work with.I highly recommend Alyssa Maxwell for a scholarship of any type available in athletics, leadership or academics. Alyssa obtained a 3.0 throughout high school and scored 930 on her SAT test ( math and reading).
