| Stefan is a well rounded student-athlete who excels both academically and athletically. Stefan was born July 22, 1992, and presently lives in Grimsby, Ontario with his family. His educational goals include pursuing a business degree from a well acclaimed college or university. He has been one of the top track and field athletes in Canada over the last several years. During the five (5) years Stefan has been competing in the shot put and discus, he has won over 60 medals and awards. Stefan’s former coach of five (5) years, John Ahlstedt, describes Stefan as one of Canada’s best shot put and discus athletes who is projected to compete for Team Canada in both of these events at the 2010 World Junior Championships in New Brunswick, Canada. Stefan now trains with John Allan, one of the best coaches in North America with a proven track record of coaching world class athletes. Stefan is currently in his senior year at Grimsby Secondary School and will be applying for admission to a university for the 2010 - 2011 academic school year.
Stefan also possesses very high academic achievements and has been maintaining an academic average in the mid 90's and a 4.0 GPA throughout his high school years. Stefan scored a 2040 on his SAT test, ranking him in the averaged 91st percentile out of all test-takers. Stefan has been able to maintain this high level of academic excellence by managing his time wisely among a rigorous training regime, including Olympic Weight Lifting and Throwing, volunteering for various school organizations, such as Breakfast Club, Tobacco Awareness, and Relay for Life, and his studies. Among Stefan’s various academic achievements are a membership in the National Society of High School Scholars and the Principal’s Honour Roll (Grade 10 and 11), with a 93% overall average.
