Deanna is a competitive golfer who wants to pursue a degree in kinesiology from a well established College or University for the fall 2010. Deanna wants to extend her golf career and play at the highest level possible while receiving a quality education. Deanna plays on her highschool golf team and has led the team in scoring all 4 years. In 2008 she won both of the Georgian Bay Area qualifiers and the Georgian Bay Area tournament. She qualified for OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) where she place 8th out of 131 girls. Her school coach nominated her for a character athlete award which she won. The award was for integrity and showing sportsmanship to all players and officials both on and off the field. Deanna has played on the BAGS (Bay Area Golf Series) for the past 3 years. In 2008 she played 7 events. She placed 1st four times, placed 2nd twice, and placed 3rd once. Deanna has also played in numerous GAO and CJGA events in the past 4 years that she has been playing golf competitively. Deanna has played in the 1st and 2nd annual University Prospects tournaments. In 2007 she placed 2nd and in 2008 she placed first with scores of 83, 79. Deanna also won her Junior Club Championship at Settler's Ghost Golf Club with scores of 86 and 73. Deanna's coach of 3 years, Murray St Onge ,is ranked as one of the top 60 coaches in the world (by the World Golf Teachers Federation) and has taught 3 provincial champions and the #1 ranked female junior in Canada and top 10 NCAA 1 player. He describes as an excellent student who has been working on her swing plane. She has been working extremely hard this winter and has improved especially on her short game. Deanna will be a great scholarship candidate to attend any NCAA program in the Fall 2010.
