| Jake is a well rounded student athlete who wants to pursue a degree in history or physical education in the Fall 2010 at a US college or university that offers a competitive golf program. He currently holds a 5 handicap and is projected to shave 2-3 stokes within the next year to be ready to compete at the NCAA 2 or NAIA level. In 2008, Jake had some impressive results in high school championships including coming 2nd at Innisbrook shooting a 75, 75 at Horseshoe and 74 at Orr Lake with a field of coming 2nd at the regional qualifying for the OFSAA. In 2009 he shot 77 to qualify for the first GAO event at Pines of Georgina and won several Pepsi tour events with scores of 72 at Glenway and 73 at Barrie Country Club with fields of 40 players. He also recently came 2nd at the Georgian bay high school championships shooting a 73 at Heritage Hills with a field of 12 schools. Jake's coach for 2 years, Murray St. Onge, is ranked as one of the top 60 coaches in the world (by the World Golf Teachers Federation) and has taught 3 provincial champions,the #1 ranked female junior in Canada, and the current top 10 ranked NCAA female player describes Jake. " Jake has the passion and work ethic to be a very competitive golfer at the college level.
