"UP walked me through the recruitment process one step at a time and guided me in the right direction towards making a decision to attend a university or college. I made the decision to attend Potomac State College because it was a smaller school which was more suitable to me and my family. This school would have never found me with UP services and I am very grateful."

At University prospects you can discover various university scholarships from colleges and universities in United States and Canada. We specialize in helping student athletes get the exposure they need to secure all sorts of athletic scholarships.

If you want the opportunity to participate in intercollegiate athletics at college or university in the United States you must fulfill these certain requirements if you want to be eligible to achieve an athletic scholarship.

  • If you want to attend a four year university or college you must write your scholastic assessment test. ( SAT).
  • If you are not from a non english speaking country you must take the TOEFL ( test of english as a foreign language exam).
  • You can only qualify for a two year junior college if you have not taken the SAT test but have a high school diploma.
  • These are the levels of college sports that you need to be aware of:

NCAA Division 1 (National Collegiate Athletic Association). The highest level of competition as well as the most scholarships is available at the NCAA division 1 level. These schools not only have high caliber athletic programs, but also are noticeably larger schools in terms of student population.

NCAA Division 2 These schools are smaller and sometimes specialty schools. The top programs in NCAA division 2 schools are competitive with division 2 schools. These schools provide scholarships, as well and financial aid and grants.

NCAA Division 3 Schools participating in NCAA division 3 cannot provide athletic scholarships, but many high school graduates receive academic scholarships, financial aids, grants, and jobs on campus, also known as work study.

NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) NAIA schools can give students athletic scholarships as well as other benefits to enable a player to attend school. Some of the nationally ranked NAIA programs successfully compete with NCAA programs.

NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) Financial aid is provided for the cost of tuition and books. In general, the tuition for Junior college is much less than a 4 year schools. If you are not ready to attend a four year university, this can be a good way to get prepared.

To qualify for college athletics at Division 1, 2, 3, NAIA, and NJCAA schools you need to complete a certain amount of courses and obtain a minimum grade point average. Please contact UP for details on being eligible for playing at all the collegiate levels.
